I am originally from the beautiful state of New Mexico. I was born in Albuquerque and grew up in the small town of Los Lunas where my two younger brothers and I spent hours playing in the fields, climbing cottonwood trees and unbeknownst to our parents, swimming in the irrigation ditches of the Rio Grande river.
I loved growing up in New Mexico and made my feeling very clear when at the age of 15 my family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. I can’t say that I would do the move over again if I had the chance but living in Indiana has lead me to the life I have today and that I would not change.
My husband and I were married in 1994 and started our family right away. Our son Adam is our oldest and was born in 1993. Melanie came along in 1995 and we thought our family was complete. Then in the summer of 2000 God blessed us with Rosie.
March 17, 1996 is a day I will never forget. That day our lives changed forever. Melanie was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Rosie was diagnosed with CF when she was born. January 14, 2014 Melanie lost her battle with CF. She fought hard but in the the end CF won. She is now living in Heaven and free of this ugly disease and I know I will see her again someday. Rosie has been evaluated for a double lung transplant and will be listed with UNOS later this summer. You can learn about Cystic Fibrosis at http://www.cff.org/AboutCF/
I have had the blessing and privilege of staying at home with my children for the past 20 years. My husband has worked hard over the years to provide for all of us and for that I am thankful.
In 1997 we moved to our current home in Avon, IN. We have 2 chihuahuas, Frank and Prudence. I am a full time college student, the Drama Producer at Plainfield High School, a Director, Acting Teacher and Producer and the President of The Melanie and Rosalie Albright Foundation. Theatre is an amazing tribe where everyone is accepted and loved and encouraged. I love to decorate my house in New Mexican decor, except for one room that belongs to my husband the Chicago Bears Fan (that and understatement). I’d like to find time to scrapbook my family photos someday. I also love Disney! Many of my favorite memories are family trips to Disney World. I played the flute in school and was a Marching Giant at Ben Davis High School.
I am a Christian. I was raised in the Lutheran Church and I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 18. I am thankful to God for so many things. Growing in Him has been and continues to be a journey. I am so thankful I call Him mine and he calls me His. I could not get through this life without Him.
